Posted on 04. Apr, 2012 by citizen in

Marchers held up signs Sunday begging for the preservation of life as they participated in a demonstration in the Austin community in support of Trayvon Martin and his family in Sanford, Fla., but also for peace in neighborhoods throughout Chicago. Community leaders, residents and other stakeholders including, state Democratic nominee for 5th Senate District Patricia Van Pelt Watkins, state Rep. Camille Lilly, D-78th, Ald. Deborah Graham (29th) and Rev. Ira Acree of Greater St. John Bible Church, led the march which went from Division Street to Chicago Avenue and back to Rev. Acree's church at 1256 N. Waller.
